Two more doctors including a Child Specialist would be appointed in Gandacherra sub-divisional hospital under Dhalai in Tripura soon.
The announcement came from Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after his visit to Gandacherra hospital on Saturday. At present five doctors are burdened with catering vast population.
Accompanied by MP Rebati Tripura, Deb inspected the existing healthcare facilities in the hospital and interacted with the local health authorities.
Appointment of specialist doctors in the rural hospital was a long-pending demand of the people residing in Gandacherra sub-division. To cater the needs of the local people, the Chief Minister announced that two doctors including a child specialist would be appointed in the hospital very soon.
The Chief Minister held discussion with Hospital authority and interacted with patients during his visit. He stressed on distributing food to patients maintaining proper quality.
Local sources said, appointment of additional doctors, especially child specialist would help people of the sub-division consisting of several far flung indigenous dominated hamlets.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also attended a public rally held to commemorate fourth death anniversary of Chanmohan Tripura who was an active BJP karyakarta and was brutally killed before the assembly elections in 2018. Deb announced a government job to the family of Chanmohan Tripura.
The Chief Minister along with the people of Gandacherra on Saturday remembered the sacrifice of Chanmohan Tripura on his death anniversary.
Deb said political violence including murder and kidnapping were common in every place across the country where the Left Front had ruled. Similar was the experience in Tripura as well.
“Many of the opposition workers were murdered during the Left regime in Tripura. Before the 2018 assembly elections, total 11 Karyakartas of BJP were killed by the left front-sponsored violence—Chanmohan Tripura, an elected representative from BJP, was one among them,” Deb told the gathering.
He said the BJP-IPFT alliance came to power in Tripura following the sacrifices made by uncounted Karyakartas like Chanmohan.
During the rally, the Chief Minister met the members in Chanmohan’s family and extended sympathy to them.
Meanwhile, there was an overwhelming response among the people of Gandacherra sub-division when the Chief Minister went there to attend the programme.
In the meantime, 42 CPI-M and IPFT voters from 15 families have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during the programme.
