People of Melaghar in Tripura are elated as their demand for an Asphalt concrete road is set to be fulfilled by the newly elected Melaghar Municipal Council.
“For the last 25 years, the people of Ward No. 9 of Melagar Municipality were demanding conversion of a brick road into an Asphalt concrete road. However, previous CPM run Melaghar Municipality failed to meet the demand”, said a Melaghar based person.
During the last Urban Body polls, renovation of the brick road became an issue.
BJP leaders promised to renovate the road.
After the polls in which leftists were routed and BJP councilors won the Municipality, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik assured that the promise would be materialized.
The brick road comes under the jurisdiction of Councilor of Ward No 9 of the Melaghar Municipality Malek Mian. He too assured people.
Accordingly, Malek Mian started working on fulfilling the promise. He initiated procedural steps for the renovation of the road. For obvious reasons, people of the area are happy that their longstanding demand is set to be fulfilled.
