Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Society’s 3rd AGM in Agartala elects new 2025-26 committee, reaffirms mission to support cancer patients in Tripura.
Agartala April 8: The Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society (MMCWS) held its Third Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its Agartala office in Tripura.
The AGM held on April 6 brought together it’s members, volunteers, and dignitaries to assess its progress and chart the future of its cancer support initiatives.
Chaired by outgoing president Shreya Debnath, alongside Founding Father Mihir Bhattacharjee and Founding Mother Manjari Bhattacharjee, the meeting highlighted the milestones of the Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society while reinforcing its commitment to aiding cancer patients in Tripura.
Secretary of the outgoing Committee, Subhadip Bhattacharya presented a comprehensive overview of MMCWS’s work, including health awareness drives, free treatment programs, and emotional support for patients and families.
Shreya Debnath emphasized the MMCWS’s impact, stating, “In three years, we’ve made significant strides against cancer, but our mission continues to grow.”
Founded in 2022 in memory of Madhurupa Bhattacharya, MMCWS honored her legacy with a special tribute, recognizing her as the driving force behind its establishment.
The AGM saw the dissolution of the 2024-25 committee and the election of a new executive team for 2025-26, led by president Tanusree Das, vice president Shibani Bhattacharya, secretary Joysankar Bhattacharjee, assistant secretary Sukanta Goswami, and Treasurer Sreya Debnath.
The executive members are : Sumati Deb, Roopdeep Bhattacharjee, Nikita Debnath, and Ranadhir Debnath.
The Madhurupa Memorial Cancer Welfare Society acknowledged the vital role of its donors, partners, and volunteers in sustaining its efforts.

Secretary Joysankar Bhattacharjee echoed this sentiment, pledging to expand MMCWS’s reach: “We’ve been a lifeline for cancer patients, and with your trust, we’ll touch even more lives.”
