Premier Coaching centre of Tripura, the School of Science will impart Free Coaching for Medical and Engineering Aspirants who would be appearing for NEET and JEE (Main and Advanced) this year, said principal of the Institute, Abhijit Bhattacharjee on Friday.
Besides, the School of Science will also give scholarship to 100 meritorious students under its programme, ‘Super 100 Scheme for the Meritorious Students of Tripura’.
“The School of Science is offering free coaching facilities and scholarships since 2007. This year also, the institute is offering same facilities for the Medical and Engineering Aspirants appearing for NEET and JEE (Main and Advanced)”, Bhattacharjee said.
Detailing the procedure, the principal said, “For the selection of 100 meritorious students from different categories ( General -50, ST -15, SC -15 and OBC -10), the School of Science authority will conduct a Screening Test (OMR Based)”.
Bhattacharjee also said, “The Screening Test will be held in the conference hall of the institute on June 24 next from 10 am to 1 pm. The results of the Test will be declared on the same day at 5 pm. Free Coaching classes along with study materials will commence from June 27. The selected students will be allowed to appear in three full length Mock Exams of 720 mark each for NEET Entrance and 400 marks each for JEE (Main)”.
On scholarships, he said on the basis of the Screening Test, the first 10 candidates would be given a scholarship of Rs 5000 each and remaining 90 students would be given Rs 1000 each. The first 50 percent of the scholarship would be given on July 21 and the remaining amount would be given after declaration of the Entrance examination.
The application form for the Screening Test can be obtained from the Shyamali Bazar Office of the institute in Agartala from June 18 between 10am to 4 pm. The last date of submission of filled up Application Form is June 23 next.
Notably, more than 470 students of the Institute cracked different Medical Entrance examinations including JIPMER in the past years and around 415 students cracked different Engineering Entrance examinations including JEE (Advanced) for IITs.
Moreover, Samrat Deb Chowdhury of Kailashahar Kendriya vidyalaya, a rocket scientist at present, was a student of the School of Science, Bhattacharjee told the media.
