Pragya Majumder of Agartala secured first place in a state-level speech competition organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra on the “Relevance of Gandhiji’s Ideals in the Present Era,” and she will represent Tripura at the National level competition which will be held on Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2 in New Delhi.
Pragya embarked on her journey to Delhi on Sunday to take part in the national-level competition on Monday (October 2) at the central event hosted at Sangsad Bhavan, Delhi.
Jaba Chakraborty, the State Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra under the Ministry of Youth Welfare and Sports, Government of India, shared the information today.
Chakraborty emphasized that Nehru Yuva Kendra consistently conducts such programs aimed at character-building, fostering mental strength, nurturing youth with strong personalities, and enhancing the social lives of the state’s young individuals.
According to a statement from the Nehru Youth Center, Pragya Majumder, the eldest daughter of Partha Majumder and Rupali Sarkar is a resident of the Milan Sangh area in Agartala. She is currently in her final year of the MBBS program at RIMS College, Manipur.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Pragya has dedicated herself to various artistic endeavors such as dancing, singing, painting, drama, and swimming since her childhood.
She holds degrees in dance, music, and painting, showcasing her versatile talents.
Pragya has also left a remarkable impression in the field of acting. She made her stage debut in the fourth grade. Her accolades include winning the ‘Best of the Best’ actress title in a state-level competition, and her consistent recognition in events like the Bhishmadev Smriti Drama Competition and Inter-Office Drama Competition, where she repeatedly received the Best Actress honor.
Moreover, she won the ‘Best play writer’ award at the State-level competition in her first attempt as a playwright.
