Nath Mission Tripura organised a grand Nath literature and cultural conference in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, featuring a procession, discussion on Nath religion and culture, yoga demonstrations and felicitation of eminent personalities.
Dharmanagar (Tripura), Mar 12: The Tripura State Committee of Nath Mission organised a grand Nath Literature and Cultural Conference at the Vivekananda Sarada Centenary Hall in Dharmanagar, North Tripura. The programme marked the committee’s first major initiative after its formation on January 25, 2026.
A festive mood prevailed across Dharmanagar from early Thursday morning. First, Nath Mission Tripura State Committee president and noted educationist Pranoy Nath hoisted the flag.
Secretary Bimal Chandra Debnath, treasurer Ananta Nath and community leader Rajendra Lal Nath offered floral tributes to the portraits of Lord Mahadev, Matsyendranath and Gorakhnath after flag hoisting.
Soon after, priest Ajay Nath lit the ceremonial lamp and formally opened the event.
Meanwhile, a colourful procession moved through the main streets of Dharmanagar town. The rally drew large participation from devotees and community members.
Pranab Kumar Nath, president of the Mission’s central committee and former MLA from Assam, inaugurated the procession.
Later, around 11 am, a discussion session began at the Rani Moynamoti, Bimala Devi and Tara Devi Memorial Stage. The session focused on the theme “Nath Religion, Nath Literature and Culture: Past, Present and Future.”
Mohant Swami Shiva Nathji Maharaj of Kiarabandha Math in Odisha and Swami Bhakta Nathji Maharaj attended the session as chief guests. Besides them, several distinguished personalities joined the programme.
They included noted social worker Ratan Debnath, writer Milan Dutta, Rishikesh Nath and retired Bangladesh Railway DSP Nihar Ranjan Nath.
The day-long programme featured yoga demonstrations and felicitation of eminent personalities. Organisers also arranged prasad distribution and a short cultural programme.
Finally, Nath Mission secretary Bimal Chandra Debnath thanked all participants and supporters.
Organisers said the conference would help promote and revive Nath culture in the region.
