The security sector has become a critical component in ensuring the holistic development of NE States and it is imperative to utilize the potentiality of the sector to train youth and generate employment in the region, opined the experts in the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) organized a day-long “North East Security Education & Global Employability Conclave” on Monday.
The conclave aimed at attracting and empowering youths in India’s security sector. The event was held in Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, and was inaugurated by the Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhowmik, in the presence of CAPSI Chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh and other dignitaries.
The event focused on key topics such as establishing state-of-the-art training institutes, promoting security courses of international standards, generating employment and women empowerment, and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the entire North East region.
Addressing the gathering, Bhowmik praised CAPSI for organizing a brainstorming conclave and hoped that the projects of the association would generate more employment opportunities for the youth of Tripura. She urged CAPSI to open a security training school or centers in the state to train young people for employment in the security sector.
“For the past 35 years, the youth of Tripura had a mindset of pursuing government jobs. However, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the youth of the state, along with the rest of the country, are now encouraged to seek employment opportunities that align with their skills and capabilities, enabling them to contribute to the nation’s progress,” she said.
The event provided a platform for young people from the North East to explore career opportunities in the security sector, which is a rapidly growing industry in India. With its vast geographical terrain, the North East region is particularly vulnerable to security challenges, making the security sector a critical component of its overall development.
Speaking to reporters, Kunwar Vikram Singh said that CAPSI was focused on bringing youth from the North East into the security sector of the country. He also announced that the association would start a pilot project with the idea of generating maximum employment opportunities in the security sector for the youth of the North East.
The conclave was well-attended by representatives from the security industry, government officials, and academia. The event highlighted the importance of developing the security sector in India’s North East region and provided a platform for collaboration between different stakeholders to achieve this objective.
