New TGB ATM E-Lobby Boosts Banking Access in Sidhai

Agartala, Jan 15: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) on Wednesday expanded its rural and semi-urban banking footprint with the launch of an ultra-modern ATM E-Lobby and a new Customer Service Point (CSP) at Sidhai Mohanpur in West Tripura district, aimed at improving last-mile digital banking access.

The facilities were inaugurated by the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath, who described the initiative as a key step towards ensuring inclusive and technology-driven banking services across the state.

The newly commissioned ATM E-Lobby has been designed to provide secure, uninterrupted and 24×7 banking services, enabling customers to access essential facilities at any time. Located next to the ATM, the CSP has been set up in the busy marketplace area of Sidhai Mohanpur to cater to daily banking needs of local residents and traders.

Minister Nath appreciated Tripura Gramin Bank’s sustained efforts to strengthen its outreach in rural and interior areas of Tripura. Demonstrating the ease of access provided by the CSP, he also opened a bank account on the spot using the Business Correspondent model.

With an extensive network of branches and service points, Tripura Gramin Bank has emerged as the leading bank in the state in terms of physical outreach. As per the latest State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) data, TGB operates the highest number of branches in Tripura, far ahead of other banks such as State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.

Highlighting the bank’s recent transformation, the minister praised the TGB leadership for modernising services and infrastructure over the past few years. He noted that facilities such as internet banking, modern branch design and upgraded customer services have placed TGB on par with nationalised banks.

Serving more than 31 lakh customers across Tripura, TGB continues to play a pivotal role in the state’s banking ecosystem. The Sidhai Mohanpur installation has taken the bank’s total number of ATMs to 40, positioning it as the third-largest ATM operator in the state after SBI and PNB.

Bank officials said that the introduction of self-operated passbook printing machines at ATM E-Lobbies has significantly eased customer inconvenience. Customers can now update passbooks independently without visiting branch counters, reducing congestion and improving overall service efficiency.
