A young and educated newly elected public representative of rural Tripura is working to make people of his constituency happy as his father who brought him up beating the odds,wants so. And within a month, after being elected, the people’s representative started making people smile.
Battling against stark poverty, Suresh Tripura tried his level best to educate his children. However, the task was difficult for a BPL category family of 9-members including six sons and a daughter. Despite the odds, Suresh Tripura never deviated from his goal. He worked in people’s houses to earn so that his children can continue their studies. And ultimately one of his sons, Rakesh Tripura completed his MA and fulfilled the dream of his father. After completing studies, Rakesh Tripura joined in politics and also bagged success in recently concluded Tripura Tribal Area District Council (TTAADC) Polls. Eventually, he became one of the Executive Members in the newly formed TTAADC.
Intriguing it may sound, Rakesh’s father is yet to be a happy person. Speaking to the media EM’s father said, I will be happy on that day when my son will be able to make people happy. It seems that Rakesh Tripura is determined to fulfill his father’s ultimate dream, once again, as he spent his 1st month salary as EM to construct a house of a deprived and poor family.
“Rakesh Tripura spent his 1st month salary as EM in the construction of a house of Karjaram Reang at Ramnagar Bazar in Gandachhera”, local sources said and added, even as Karjaram is a helpless poor person, he was deprived of BPL status, a house under Awas Yojana, a toilet and other facilities under Government schemes. Four members of Karjaram Reang used to stay in a deplorable condition. With porous roof, the family suffered a lot during rains.
“Pained at the pitiable condition of Karjaram, Rakesh Tripura decided to construct a house for the helpless family – and did it today”, sources commented.
Newly elected EM’s gesture brought cheers and hopes among the local people as well as the EM made a big step forward in realizing his father’s ultimate dream of making people happy.
