Abhishek to arrive in Agartala on June 14
All India Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will arrive in Agartala June 14 to join the party’s campaign for by-polls scheduled to be held on June 23 next.
“Abhishek Banerjee will take part in a road show in support of the party candidates for by-polls in 6- Agartala and 8- Town Bordowali seats on June 14 next apart from other organizational programmes,” said TMC’s state in-charge Rajib Banerjee.
Addressing a press conference at Agartala Press Club on Saturday, he also said that the AITC general secretary would also campaign in favour of the party candidates for two other seats- Surma and Jubarajnagar in the next phase.
The four TMC candidates who are contesting the by-elections are- Panna Deb from 6-Agartala, Sanhita Banerjee from 8- Town Bordowali, Arjun Namasudra from 46- Surma and Dr. Mrinal Kanti Debnath from 57- Jubarajnagar. They are campaigning in full gear to reach out to the people with the appeal of vote.
Cong to protest at ED office on June 13 in Tripura as Rahul summoned
The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee along with rest of the nation looks set to put up show of strength in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Agartala on June 13 next, when party leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before the agency in Delhi in a money laundering case.
PCC President Birajit Sinha in a press conference on Saturday said that as part of the nationwide protest against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government for allegedly misusing the government machinery, the Congress party has decided to protest in front of ED offices across India.
Sinha alleged the ruling BJP government has resorted to political vendetta against the opposition leaders and said as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear before the ED on June 13, the Congress in Tripura will protest in front of the ED office here at Agartala.
Besides, Sinha on Saturday also came down heavily on the BJP government in Tripura over Mudra loan and alleged the BJP government in Tripura had failed to implement the Mudra loan depriving the youths.
