Tripura Government will intensify Covid Vaccination Drive on a mission mode among the eligible beneficiaries of ages between 15-18 years. Meanwhile, Tripura has vaccinated more than 21 Lakh population of the State, so far, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb wrote in a social media post.

 

Speaking to the media, Deb said, the average vaccination rate for the 15-18 age group is 42 percent in the state as well as in the country.

 

According to Deb, Tripura already vaccinated 99.53 percent eligible people in the 18+ age group with the first dose and 82.35 percent people with the second dose.

 

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the largest vaccination drive against Covid being carried out across the country, as the vaccination drive completed one year on Sunday.

 

Covid-Vaccination-TripuraExtending gratitude to the Prime Minister, Deb wrote in a Facebook posts, “In one year, #Tripura has been able to administer more than 48 Lakh doses of the COVID vaccine.

 

I thank all the healthcare staff and officials for their relentless efforts. They traveled to the remotest part of the state to administer vaccines”.

 

He further wrote, “It is a matter of immense pride that more than 21 Lakh population of #Tripura has been fully vaccinated to date.

The Chief Minister also told the media, “In a country with a population of 130 crore, the fight against Covid pandemic and developing vaccines in such a short period have been possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A total of 157 crore doses were so far administered in the country including 76 crore doses to the women.

 

He said, “The Prime Minister equally focused on both the rural and urban areas– of the total, 99 crore doses were administered to the people in the rural areas.”
