Patanjali Yogpeeth Partners State Govt in Development Drive. MoU Aims to Unlock Tripura Potential Says CM Dr Manik Saha.

Agartala Dec 16: In a major push to attract investment and accelerate sustainable growth, the Government of Tripura has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust), Haridwar.

The MoU signing marks the beginning of a wide-ranging development partnership across multiple sectors in the state.

These include biodiversity conservation, bamboo and agar-based value chains, AYUSH and wellness, skill development, tribal welfare, agritech, tourism, information technology, and rural livelihood generation.

The umbrella MoU, which contains non-binding provisions, is aimed at creating a structured framework for future collaboration and project identification.

In addition to the overarching agreement, a second, sector-specific MoU has been signed between the Forest Department of the Government of Tripura and Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust.

This agreement focuses on forest and agro-forest value chain development and is designed to strengthen research and innovation in the forestry sector.

Key areas of cooperation include scientific research on agarwood, digitisation and mapping of forest resources, development of ethical and sustainable global marketing channels, value addition of forest produce, and biodiversity exploration.

The partnership also envisions the creation of supporting infrastructure such as research centres, seed banks, and wellness-driven eco-tourism assets.

Reacting to the development, Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha shared his optimism on social media, describing the MoU as a step towards “Unlocking Tripura’s Potential.”

He expressed satisfaction over the collaboration with Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust of Uttarakhand, stating that the agreements would open new avenues of investment and growth across multiple sectors, including forest and agro-forest value chains.

The Chief Minister further noted that the partnership is expected to generate fresh opportunities, strengthen the state’s economy, and promote sustainable and inclusive development.

He added that the government looks forward to working closely with Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust to transform Tripura into a hub of innovation, wellness, and eco-friendly growth.
