In an attempt to ensure adequate availability of Cancer specialists in the State, Post Graduate courses in the Radiation Oncology department will be introduced from the current academic year at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC).

Two Assistant Professors will be appointed to conduct the classes.

Sources said, a process to recruit one retired Cancer specialist, Dr Pradip Kumar Maity has been started.

Notably, every year, four students will be admitted to the PG Course.

There are a total of 13 Cancer specialists in Agartala Cancer Hospital including one Gynecology-Oncology.
