On the first day of the New Year 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 10th installment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme today via video conferencing giving the farmers of the country a boost.
Over 2 lakh farmers of Tripura have received the 10th installment of the PM-Kisan on Saturday.
According to a PIB press release, 2 lakh 17 thousand 236 farmers of Tripura were benefitted under the PM-Kisan scheme and a total of Rs 44 crore 76 lakh 66 thousand were transferred to the beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb attended the video conference and said, “Much gratitude to the PM for this New Year gift to our farmers, it will surely help them sustain their livelihoods.”
Besides, During the programme, Prime Minister also released an equity grant of more than Rs. 14 crore to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers. Prime Minister interacted with FPOs during the event. Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Ministers, LGs, Agriculture Ministers and farmers from several states were linked to the event.
Five FROs of the Tripura – Jirania Farmer Producer Company, Nalchar Bhumi Farmer Producer Company, Kanthalia Krishak Beej Kalyan Farmer Producer Company, Jolaibari Pilak Farmer Producer Company and Kakraban Agri Farmer Federation Producer Company – have also got the equity grants.
The Prime Minister transferred an amount of more than Rs. 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families across the country today.
Speaking about the economy, the Prime Minister said that on many parameters, the Indian economy is looking better than pre-covid days. He pointed out that “today the growth rate of our economy is more than 8%.
The Prime Minister said that PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a big support for India’s farmers. If we include today’s transfer, more than Rs 1.80 lakh crore have been transferred directly to the accounts of the farmers, he said.
