In the run up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Tripura visit on January 4 next, administration is working in full swing to ensure a smooth conduct of the programme.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held a review meeting as well as inspected the venue of the Prime Minister’s programme. Besides, Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik also took stock of preparations in Airport road.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday evening inspected Swami Vivekananda ground, the venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s January 4 rally.
Deb accompanied by Chief Secretary Kumar Alok and a team of high officials reviewed the preparations for the rally and passed necessary instructions.
Speaking to the media, Deb said the Prime Minister would first inaugurate the new terminal building of Maharaja Bir Bikram international Airport.
The Prime Minister would then reach Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where he is scheduled to launch two projects- Vidyajyoti Schools under Mission 100 Scheme and Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana apart from interaction with the beneficiaries of various central schemes.
Before his visit to the venue, the Chief Minister chaired a meeting along with Pratima Bhowmik at the civil secretariat.
The Chief Minister passed an instruction to the line departments to work in coordination for making the rally successful. He asked the authority concerned for the arrangement of drinking water inside the ground.
The Chief Minister also stressed on deployment of sufficient volunteers to maintain discipline during the Prime Minister’s rally.
Deb asked the Transport department to make necessary arrangements for transporting the people from the railway station to the venue. He also instructed the department for setting up proper parking zones.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also laid importance on inviting eminent personalities in various fields like- literature and sports.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, Education minister Ratanlal Nath, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy, Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, BJP state president Dr. Manik Saha and many other officials were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile, prior to the visit of the Prime Minister, BJP supporters held ‘vibrant’ rallies across the State welcoming him. A rally led by the Chief Minister was also held in Banamalipur area in Agartala. State BJP president Dr Manik Saha, MoS Pratima Bhowmik, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder and others also held an organizational meet in Agartala today over the Prime Minister’s visit.
