The students of junior classes of Jahar Nabaday Vidyalaya at Bandowar in Udaipur reportedly became victims of ragging by students of class –XI of the Vidyalaya. At the same time, the school authority allegedly did not take any effective step to stop the ragging even though the allegation of ragging was raised long before.
Sources said that allegations of physical and mental torture on students of class –VIII were raised against 13 students of class- XI of the Vidyalaya. The students of class –XI allegedly forced the students of class –VIII to consume narcotics as well as asked them to do other things like washing clothes etc.
“The seniors created pressure on the junior students to bring food and contraband for them from outside. Apart from that often the senior students of class –XI allegedly engaged the junior students to wash their clothes and to massage their bodies”, sources alleged.
Meanwhile, the guardians of ragging-affected junior students from different subdivisions met with the Principal of the school on Monday with a demand to stop ragging and to take necessary action against the senior students involved with incidents of torture of junior students.
The guardians further alleged that the intensity of ragging increased during the last 6 months. But the school authority allegedly did not take any action against the accused students. So the guardians demanded to school authority to take necessary immediate action against the senior students. Meanwhile Principal assured to take action against the students involved in the alleged ragging incident.
