Some of the terminated 10323 teachers threatened to send legal notices to the Headmaster/Headmistress or head of the Institution did not allow the axed teachers to rejoin their respective schools.

Speaking at a press conference leader of the retrenched 10323 teacher Biswajit Banik said, “We are giving seven days ultimatum to the Head of the Institutions who did not allow us to rejoin in schools. If those Head of the Institutions continue to prevent us from joining, we would send them legal notices after seven days”.

Earlier, the terminated teachers announced that they would go to their respective schools and rejoin from August 12, 2022.

The retrenched teachers argued that the order of the High Court of Tripura did not mean termination of jobs of 10323 teachers en masse.

Justifying their arguments, Biswajit Banik said they filed an RTI with the Supreme Court. According to Banik, from the RTI it was revealed that termination of job order was not applicable en masse – but only a few candidates.

He alleged a section of officials misinterpreted the verdict of the High Court and Supreme Court and created confusion.

Accordingly, many of the axed teachers reported to the schools on Friday (August 12).  However, in most of the cases, school authority did not allow them to rejoin as per the directives of the concerned Higher Authority.

Banik claimed few School authorities allowed them to join.

Irked at the refusal by the school authorities, Banik said that they would wait for seven days and hope that concerned authorities would allow them to rejoin. In case, terminated teachers are allowed to re-join, they would send legal notices to the respective school authorities, Banik commented.
