Tripura Chief Minister directed the State transport department to take steps for building helipads at tourist spots to make the tourist destination more attractive. Besides, he also directed the Principal Secretary of the Transport Department to expedite construction works of Sabroom and Nishchintapur Railway Yards.

The Chief Minister reviewed the implementation of the state government’s Vision Document through various departments including the Transport Department on Saturday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the steps taken by the state government for the overall development of the people of the state and the success in implementing various programs so far and their plans for the future.

n the review meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed various welfare programs implemented as per the Vision Document of the Tribal Welfare department.

He emphasized taking necessary steps for marketing of various textile products produced by the indigenous people themselves as well as involving good designers and consultants in this field.

The Secretary of the department in the meeting said, at present, there are 4 Eklavya Model Residential Schools and 1 Eklavya Model Day Boarding School.Besides, 6 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools have been set up. In the financial year 2020-21, the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has approved setting up of 3 new Eklavya Model Residential Schools, said the Secretary of the department at the meeting. The matter of overall development of the tribal areas of the state through Mukhyamantri Gram Samridhi Yojana was also discussed in the meeting.

During the review meeting, the Secretary of the Urban Development department elaborated on the current status of the various programs of the department and the steps takenas per the Vision Document. The Chief Minister also emphasized beautifying both sides of River Howrah besides the improvement of the canal for irrigation.

 During the review meeting, the Secretary of the Information & Cultural Affairs department elaborated on different steps taken and their publicity as per the Vision Document.After reviewing the various programs of the department, the Chief Minister advised the secretary of the department to take all necessary steps to take Yatra on a larger scale.He also emphasized the need to expand the art of puppetry. Publishing a coffee table book on various important fairs and festivals in the state was also discussed in the meeting. Various programs of the tourism department in line with the Vision Document of the government were reviewed in the meeting. Reviewing the programs, the Chief Minister advised the department to consult and encourage people who have been sanctioned loans to start a business in the tourism sector under the state government’s ongoing tourism support scheme. Besides that, he also mentioned taking new projects for the development of Kasba Kali Mandir and ChauddaDevta Mandir, Khoyerpur.

While reviewing various programs of Industry and Commerce department in the review meeting, the Chief Minister advised the Secretary of the department to emphasizemore on the need for refining rubber tappers and improving the quality of rubber sheets.In this case, he asked to take the necessary steps to prepare a mini-mission on rubber. He also emphasized connecting the tea gardens of the state with the cooperatives. He also mentioned improving the livelihood of tea workers.

Elaborating about various programs of Food Department in the review meeting, the Secretary of the department said, citizens are collecting rations through biometrics in the state. Initiatives have been taken to give Smart Ration Card. In this regard, the Chief Minister asks the Secretary to take necessary steps to introduce home delivery service in ration shops. Chief Secretary Kumar Alok also attended the review meeting.

Besides, various departments like Revenue, Minority Welfare, OBC Welfare, Finance, General Administration (Administrative Reforms), Science and Technology, Tribal Research and Cultural Institute, etc. implementing different development programs in terms of Vision Documents of the government were elaborated by their respective Principal Secretaries and Secretaries.
