TMC-Youth-Tripura-Raj-BhawanIn protest against unabated price hike and growing unemployment, Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress organized a Raj Bhawan Abhiyan in Agartala on Monday.

 

Even before the activists reached near the Raj Bhawan, security forces stopped them – this led to a minor scuffle following which the agitators were arrested.

 

A tweet by AITC, Tripura dubbed the Police action as another attack on democracy.

 

State TMC In-charge Rajib Banerjee, MP Sushmita Dev, State Youth Committee President Santanu Saha, State Women Committee President Panna Dev, SC Cell President Sanjay Das, ST Cell President Malin Jamatia along with many other leaders of the party in Tripura were present in the procession.

 

Speaking to the media, Rajib Banerjee criticized the BJP government and alleged people of the State are suffering due to the faulty policies of the government. He alleged, Tripura is lagging behind in education, and health and suffering from rapid increase in unemployment and price hike.

 

TMC MP Sushmita Dev lambasted the BJP government over its “fake promises” on employment. She alleged BJP betrayed with the people of Tripura.

 

enewstime-TMC-Youth-Tripura-Raj-BhawanTraining a gun at Nadda’s State visit and a rally at Khumulwng today, Dev said, “Nadda has no right to hold any rally or gathering in Tripura unless he fails to explain the people of the state especially the youth why the party could not fulfill its promises made on unemployment”.

 

“Where are the 50,000 jobs in a year? Where are jobs from Missed calls?”, Susmita Dev asked.

 

The TMC demanded immediate recruitment of youths who are sitting jobless at homes and reduction in prices of essential commodities at the earliest.

 

However, the procession could not reach near the Raj Bhawan as police stopped the agitators and later detained them.
