In a road mishap one youth was killed and eight others were Radhanagar in Tripura on Monday. The deceased was identified as Baltu Das aka Sridam Das(22). The accident victims hail from Phultali area under Unakoti district in Tripura.
Among the wounded persons, condition of the driver who is also the owner of the vehicle, Sandip Singha is stated to be critical.
Sandip Singha, the owner, runs a Decorator’s business and went to a wedding party along with his eight workers at Kanchan Bari.
Sources said, nine persons including Sandip Singha were returning from Kanchan Bari to Phultali in a Bolero van.
While returning, as the car reached near Assam Rifles Camp at Radhanagar area under Kumarghat in Unakoti district on Monday mornin, the driver lost control and met an accident.
Fire service personnel from Kumarghat Fire Service station rushed the spot and rescued the victims. Initially, the injured persons were taken to Fatikroy Primary Health Centre and were later refered to Kailashahar District Hospital.
On the way to the hospital, Baltu Das succumbed. Eight others are undergoing treatment with serious injuries.
The wounded eight persons including the driver cum owner are: Sandip Singha (47) , Bapan Singha (36), Surajit Singha (24), Subal Malakar (27), Gouranga Malakar (26), Abhijit Malakar (27), Prashanta Malakar (31) and Debjit Malakar (24).
