Two youths were killed in a road accident in two separate places on Tuesday.

 

The two incidents of deaths were reported from Boxonagar in Sepahijala district and Karailang in Khowai district.

 

A youth, who was out on a vehicle along with others to celebrate Eid, died in a road accident at Boxonagar. 

 

The youth- Mohammed Jonny (18), resident of Jumer Tila at North Kalamchaura in Sonamura sub-division, died on the spot as he came under wheels of a vehicle after falling from the vehicle in which he was travelling on Boxanagar- Sonamura road, a police officer told the reporters.

Police said, according to the locals, the youth, accompanied by some others, was enjoying in another vehicle that came to Boxanagar. When the vehicle was returning, the youth fell down on the road at Bagber area and he came under the wheel of another vehicle.

 

Locals claimed, one Ripan Mia is the owner and was driving the vehicle that crushed Mohammed Jonny to death. Police are searching the driver.  

 

As soon as the news spread, a deep pall of gloom descended over the entire area and the incident marred the spirit of the Eid celebration.  

 

The other youth – Prasenjit Das (25), resident of Pulinpur area in Teliamura, died in another road mishap on the national highway near Karailang petrol pump today. The youth was riding a motorcycle. He died after an oil tanker crashed into the motorcycle and smashed the youth to death on spot. Police seized the tanker but the driver ran away.
