Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb said he sanctioned a Total of Rs 3.39 crores was sanctioned for 10 different projects in Tripura from MPLAD fund.
Deb while addressing the press in Agartala on Tuesday highlighted the significant and productive decisions taken during his tenure as a member of the Rajya Sabha. Deb expressed his commitment to the welfare and progress of the state.
In addition to his financial endeavors, Deb’s engagement within the parliament was also underscored.
He revealed that during his tenure, he had raised a series of 17 questions, one of which was a one-star question, with the remainder being un-starred questions.
Notably, he presented a private member bill aimed at mandating environmental education in schools, highlighting his commitment to holistic and sustainable education.
Deb emphasized his efforts in advocating the repeal of archaic British laws that still hold sway in the country.
The Rajya Sabha MP said he always worked for promoting and celebrating indigenous products and commodities of Tripura on a global platform. In this context, he mentioned iconic products of Tripura such as the Queen variety of pineapple and Agar wood, underscoring their importance and economic potential. Deb said he cherished the advancements in the agricultural and horticultural sectors within the state.
Deb informed the media persons, ““I also got a chance to talk about the Kailasahar airport in the Parliament. Although the central government spoke about funds, but I said that the state government can provide land for rebuilding the airport”.
He also talked about the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), a scheme facilitating youth self-reliance. He lauded the scheme for its transformative impact on empowering young individuals to become economically independent.
Deb concluded his address by commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “Double-Engine” government for fulfilling their promises to the populace. He asserted that Tripura’s trajectory was aligned with development, spanning from infrastructure to the upliftment of the underprivileged.
Meantime, the Rajya Sabha MP urged the public to rally behind BJP candidates in the upcoming by-elections in Boxanagar and Dhanpur of Tripura and the subsequent Lok Sabha elections. He projected that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state would witness enhanced development and progress in the times to come.
