Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his whirlwind one-day State tour on Tuesday, announced ‘Tripura State Policy 2022’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalp’.
According to a government press release, total Rs 400 crore has been allotted for the implementation of Tripura State Policy 2022 while Industry & Commerce department has taken the plan to primarily spend Rs 85 crore for the implementation of the scheme.
Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Choudhury briefed about the two schemes in a press conference called at the Secretariat today. Industries & Commerce Minister Manoj Kanti Deb and Social welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma, Secretary of ICA department Dr. P. K Goyal and Secretary of Social welfare & Social Education department Chaitanyamurthy were also at the press conference.
Tripura State Policy 2022
While speaking about Tripura State Policy 2022 adopted to empower women, ICA Minister said, from now onwards there will be 33% seats reserved for women in case of any government or outsourcing job. Under this policy, women may take study loans from banks or any other financial organization at 3% interest rate for pursuing higher studies.
Apart from this, 13 Women Health & Wellness Centres will be set up for the wellness of the women through this scheme at the cost of 10 crore rupees. 100-bedded Super Specialty Units will be set up for mother and child in Government Medical College at the cost of 190 crore rupees.
ICA Minister said two 100-bedded drug dependence hospitals will be set up through this scheme at the cost of Rs 90 crore. Two 50-bedded mental hospitals will be built at the cost of Rs 45 crore for female mental patients. A 25-bedded halfway home will also be built for them at the cost of Rs 1 crore.
Besides, 3 old age homes at the cost of Rs 1 crore, 4 new hostels for working women at the cost of Rs 15 crore, a State Resource Centre for women at the cost of Rs 50 lakh will be built under this scheme.
The ICA Minister said total Rs 400 crore has been allotted for the implementation of Tripura State Policy 2022. This fund will be arranged from different schemes, flagship schemes, grants and from the Finance department, Government of Tripura if required.
Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalp
While speaking about Mukhyamantri Cha Shramik Kalyan Prakalp, ICA Minister said, there are 7 thousand tea garden worker families involved in 54 tea gardens and 21 tea processing factories of the state. The scheme has been adopted for providing a healthy living environment to these 7 thousand families.
Industry & Commerce department has taken the plan to primarily spend Rs 85 crore for the implementation of the scheme. Through this scheme, landless families will be provided with land to build their house for living.
According to the capability, each family will be provided with Priority Household (PG) ration cards. Basic facilities such as education, health, living area, sanitation, drinking and Electricity etc. will be provided to the tea garden worker families. Pre-primary, primary and higher education families will be available to their children.
Tea garden worker families will be brought under social pension schemes. For women workers, health facilities will be arranged during child delivery and for the child health. Divyangans will be provided with walking aid, arrangements will be made to let women workers work in open environment. According to the capability, the families will be brought under insurance and under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.
Food Minister Manoj Kanti Deb in the press meet said, after the present government took over in 2018, paddy has been procured directly from farmers with the initiative of the government. Target was taken to procure total 20,000 MT of paddy in the Kharif season of this financial year. But looking at the encouraged farmers, 33,000 MT of paddy was procured. He informed that so far 1 lakh 300 Metric Tone of paddy has been procured from the farmers in the state from the start through which 44 thousand farmers. After the present government took over, the consumers are now getting Dal, sugar and tea of Tripureshwari brand from the ration shops. In coming days, initiatives will be taken to provide soyabean and other essential items also, he added.
