Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered puja and prayers at Matabari Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur (Tripura) on Tuesday.
He also unveiled the Silver Door of the Temple of the presiding deity, Maa Tripura Sundari. The Union Minister was briefed about PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvination and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) Scheme at the temple complex.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Chief Secretary Kumar Alok and other dignitaries were present there.
Secretary to Tourism department, Kiran Gitte briefed Shah about plans pertaining to the development of the Matabari temple under the PRASAD Scheme.
Taking to social media, Deb wrote, “Hon’ble HM, Shri Amit Shah Ji inspected the proposed plan of beautification of Matabari Temple. We are planning to complete the renovation of Matabari temple by the end of 2022. The revamped temple will attract tourists from across the country”.
Earlier, the Union Minister arrived at Agartala Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in a BSF plane today. In the airport, Shah was received by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union MoS Pratima Bhoumik, BJP State president Dr Manik Saha, BJP Tripura in-charge Vinod Sonkar, chief Secretary of Government of Tripura Kumar Alok, DGP VS Yadav, senior BSF officials and State government officials.
Amit Shah, later flew back to Agartala to address a public rally at Vivekananda Maidan (Astabal ground).
Meantime, braving scorching heat, a large number of people gathered at the venue. According to the Chief Minister the huge crowd for the public meeting of Shah ‘validates the development works done by the BJP-IPFT government in the last four years.
