With upcoming Budget session in State Assembly and by-polls in four Assembly constituencies, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held a meeting with the Ministers, MLAs and leaders at his residence on Sunday.
The Chief Minister suggested that it would sail over both the occasion smoothly.
Speaking about the discussions held, Deb said, “In a meeting held at my residence today (Sunday), various organizational issues were discussed, including the implementation of development works in different assembly constituencies focusing on local issues in the forthcoming budget. The party is thinking about how many votes can be won in the by-elections in the four assembly constituencies and we are going to win by a huge margin in the 2023 assembly elections under the leadership of BJP state president Dr Manik Saha”.
Deb’s statement clearly mention about the Government’s focus on the State Budget as well as it exudes confidence of party’s preparedness in winning the elections under the leadership of the State party president.
In the upcoming State Budget, it is obvious that development – both with the short term and long term goals – will get a priority in the line of the Central Budget. Along with development, mopping up additional revenue for streamlining the Fiscal issues is also likely to get a emphasis.
Since the State Budget will be placed in election year – by polls in four constituencies followed by State Assembly elections within months – a slew of social security measures like hiking the social allowances and REGA wages etc is also on the cards.

Recently concluded Urban Body Polls showed its struggle in securing the 2nd position at many erstwhile left bastions.
The Parties, Congress and Trinamool Congress are yet to emerge as major challengers – they may see increase in their respective vote shares.
In the backdrop of such a political situation and developmental works carried out in rural areas – particularly distribution of houses under PMYG (Rural) among large section of the people – is likely to tilt the dice in favour of the ruling party, Agartala Based Political Analysts opined.
