Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) is standing tall and high in terms of rural economy of the State, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said at TGB premises in Agartala on Sunday.

 

The Minister while inaugurating a voluntary blood donation camp organized by the TGB today, hailed the initiative and commented, blood donation offers the biggest opportunity to serve the people. He also pointed out the as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and observance of upcoming 50th Statehood Day, the blood donation initiative by the TGB is a dignified way to serve a noble social cause.

Addressing the officers and staff of the Bank, Sushanta Chowdhury stressed the importance of the rural sector. He referred to Mahatma Gandhi and said one must know the rural area as true development cannot take place without the development of rural areas.  

 

“The TGB has a significant role in strengthening the socio-economic condition of the rural people of our State and the Bank is doing the same since its inception in 1976. I believe a robust establishment has to be there for this purpose and it will have to be built on the people’s hard works. The TGB is following this path”, the Minister said and hoped that the Bank will maintain its performance and come out in flying colours in future in terms of its role in developing the rural sector of the State.

 

He praised the TGB for organizing a voluntary blood donation and said, blood has no alternative. Blood donation actually gives ‘life’ to other people. This is the biggest way how we can help the people. The Minister thanked the TGB staff for such initiative.

 

TGB sources said, as many as 60 people voluntarily donated blood in the camp.
