Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha reiterated the incumbent BJP government’s dedication to fostering the comprehensive development of the Janajati people in the State.
In this connection, Dr Saha referred implementation of the Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) in the Aspirational blocks in Tripura for socio-economic upliftment of the Janajati people.
During the inauguration of the Ter festival, the ‘festival of unity’ on Saturday, Dr. Saha emphasized, “The State has already received funds worth approximately Rs 13,000 crore for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs), which will be allocated towards the advancement of twelve aspirational blocks.”
Besides, he also outlined the government’s various other initiatives designed to improve the well-being of Janajati communities.
It’s important to note that the Aspirational blocks are predominantly inhabited by the Janajati people, making the EAPs’ implementation highly beneficial for these residents.
The Ter festival, hosted by the Khumpui Cultural Academy at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala, showcased the rich cultural diversity, traditional cuisines, and captivating attire of Tripura’s 19 distinct tribes. The festival will continue for a two-day period.
With numerous artists from various regions participating in the festival and with traditional tribal foods, the festival is proving to be a major attraction for the visitors.
During his inaugural speech, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the vibrant Ter festival organized by the Khumpui Cultural Academy would reinforce the message of ‘unity in diversity.’
He also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy for promoting progress in the long-neglected North East region.
The inaugural ceremony saw the presence of dignitaries including Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Panchali Debbarma representing the organizing body, and other esteemed officials.
