The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) conducted Term 1 of the Higher Secondary Examination will begin from December 15 (Wednesday). Also, its equivalent Madrassa Fazil Arts and Madrassa Fazil Theology examinations will begin on the same day.  Term 1 of Madhyamik and Madrassa Alim will commence from December 16, said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath in Agartala on Tuesday.

He said, from this year, the TBSE is conducting the examinations in Term 1 and Term 2 in line with the CBSE pattern. The Minister reasoned and said, this procedure is being followed to ensure the students’ career does not suffer in case of another spike in the Corona pandemic.  

The Higher Secondary Examinations will continue till January 7 next while the Madhyamik will continue till December 29 next.

Nath also said, a total of 28,902 candidates of 406 schools will appear in the Higher Secondary examination while 43, 180 students of 1026 schools will sit for the Madhyamik examination this year. The Higher Secondary examinations will be conducted in 66 centres and the Madhyamik in 82 centers.

The Education Minister informed the media, the Term – examinations of the Higher Secondary and Madhyamik will be conducted for 50 marks. Explaining further, he said, out of the 50 marks, 40 marks are allotted for theory and 10 marks for internal assessment for Arts subjects. For the science stream, 35 marks are allotted for the theory while 15 marks are for practicals.

“The Term 1 examinations will be held on 70 percent of syllabus only”, Nath said.
