The terminated 10,323 ad hoc teachers are all set to resume their indefinite sit-in demonstration in front of Agartala City Centre from Monday as the Tripura CM ‘s assurance period ended without any major drive, 10,323 leader Dalia Das said.

The teachers, hundreds in numbers, also participated in a rally held at Agartala city on Sunday evening and threatened the state administration of dire consequences if their demands of a permanent solution at one go were not met.

“The time given by the Chief Minister had already ended but nothing much came up. The Chief Minister told us to wait for two months so that they could have sometime to chalk out ways to resolve our issues—permanent jobs to all the retrenched teachers and  die in harness jobs for kins of deceased 10,323 teachers”, Das told reporters on the sideline of their rally.

According to Das, all the retrenched teachers must be recruited through a single recruitment drive and it will be a justice to the teachers who have lost their only source of livelihood owing to the injustice meted out by the government.

Some family members of the teachers also joined the protests and demanded justice for their sons and daughters. The teachers also threatened that if any serious law and order crisis emerged they would not be responsible for it as the police department did not allow them to hold the protests.
