‘The Kashmir Files’ has been declared tax-free in Tripura. The movie was directed by Vivek Agnihotri.
In a social media post on Monday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced the decision of the State Government and said the decision was taken to encourage people to watch the film as well as support the movie.
Biplab Kumar Deb wrote in his social media post about the film and the decision of the Tripura Government, “#TheKashmirFilesMovie made by #VivekAgnihotri , depicts the heart wrenching struggle and trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindus.
To support his movie and encourage the people of the state to watch it, #Tripura govt has decided to make it tax-free in #Tripura”.
The film depicted the persecution and exodus of the Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir following systematic killings of the Hindus by the Pakistan backed terrorists. It narrated the pain, struggle, plight and trauma of them.
Produced by Zee Studios, the film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi among others. ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released last week on March 11 and earned a lot of appreciation across the country.
Four other States – Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana – also announced the exemption of taxes for ‘The Kashmir Files’.
Common people as well as the film lovers hailed the decision of the Tripura government. Meantime, multiplexes that are showing ‘The Kashmir Files’ witnessed an impressive flow of audience which is expected to increase further after the film has got the ‘tax-free’ tag in the State today. Netizens also responded well.
