Relatives of an individual named Mayur Ali were deeply surprised and outraged upon discovering that Mayur, who is alive and well, has been incorrectly marked as ‘deceased’.
This bizarre incident occurred due to the actions of certain malevolent persons who managed to acquire a fraudulent death certificate for Mayur through the Subdivisional administration of Dharmanagar. Consequently, his name was removed from the list of Government beneficiaries.
Mayur Ali’s ordeal began after his marriage to Razia Begum from Dhupirband Gram Panchayat. Marital discord led Razia to leave her in-laws’ house and seek refuge at her parental home, while Mayur pursued a job opportunity in Bengaluru with a private company. Despite the physical distance, Mayur maintained regular contact with his family, assuring them that he was well.
Liyakat Ali, Mayur’s brother, stated, “Mayur regularly calls us and talks to us. He is still in the job and absolutely fine shape.” Liyakat recounted how Razia had taken their Ration Card from their household three years ago and had been reluctant to return it.
Recently, Liyakat approached Razia to reclaim the Ration Card. Although she returned the card, Liyakat was taken aback to discover that Mayur Ali’s name was glaringly absent from the document. Seeking clarification, he visited the Food Department Office on August 16. What he learned there was nothing short of astonishing.
Officials informed Liyakat that a death certificate for his elder brother, Mayur Ali, had been presented, leading to the erasure of his name from the Ration Card. Stunned by this revelation; Liyakat immediately reached out to Mayur and shared the unsettling news.
Taking swift action, Liyakat lodged a formal complaint with the Kadamtala Police Station regarding the fraudulent death certificate of his still ‘alive’ elder brother.
