Assam Police re-arrested the three suspected operatives of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Jatrapur Police station area under Sepahijala district in Tripura on Friday.
These three suspected youths were recently arrested by Tripura Police from Sepahijala district and then granted conditional bail by court.
After their release on conditional bail, Assam Police rearrested them in connection with their suspected involvement in anti-Indian activities – on the same ground, Tripura Police also arrested the trio.
A team of Jogighopa Police Station in Bongaigaon of Assam reached Kathalia area under Jatrapur police station and arrested the three suspects- Abul Kashem (33), Hamid Ali (38) and Imran Hossen (24), all residents of Khaidya Khala under Jatrapur Police Station.
They were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sonamura and the Investigating Officer of the Assam Police Nitumani Das prayed for transit remand of the three accused for taking them to Assam. However, the court’s decision remained pending.
According to police sources, earlier the trio was granted conditional bail by the Court of District and Sessions Judge, Sepahijala on April 7 last.
One of the conditions was that the three persons were asked not to leave the jurisdiction of the court with prior permission of the court.
Now, the Assam police need to take permission from the Court of District and Sessions Judge, Sepahijala for taking them on transit remand. The three persons would be produced before the court again on April 16 next. The IO of the Assam Police will have to submit updated Case Diary on April 16.
