A blueprint has been chalked out to bring back the Communist Party in power in Tripura, said Convener of State Trinamool Congress (TMC) Steering Committee Subal Bhowmik in Agartala on Sunday.
Addressing a press meet, Bhowmik said, “Congress leaders are openly urging the party supporters to stand by the side of the Communists. However, TMC will not allow the blueprint to be materialized. The TMC will form the government in Tripura under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee as it is the only Party that is up against both the Communist Party and BJP”.
Without naming any one, Subal Bhowmik said people know about the leaders who brought CPM in power in 1978 and in 1993. During the long tenure of CPM, people continued to suffer. TMC will not allow CPM to return to power.
He also slammed the ruling BJP and said, “Our fight under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee against BJP in Tripura will continue. We shall unseat the BJP from power during the next assembly elections,”
Referring to the ‘Bengal model’ where Congress and CPM joined hand in the last Assembly polls there and failed to open account, Bhowmik said people rejected the CPM and are fed up with the ruling BJP – TMC is certain to win upcoming Assembly polls with the blessings of people of the State.
He also said, Party will take action, as per the constitution of the party, against those who reportedly attended the welcome rally of the two former BJP MLAs who recently joined Congress. “
As a matter of fact ‘show cause’ notices have been served to those who fought the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) polls on TMC ticket but attended the welcome rally”, Bhowmik said.
