The Science Summit in Agartala of G20 countries will extensively dwell upon the ‘Clean Energy for Greener Future’, the incumbent State and Central governments are working together in quest of ‘clean and green’ energy.
A central team from the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy will visit Tripura to explore the feasibility of the uses of the ‘Green Hydrogen Technology’ in the State, said Minister of the State Power Department Ratan Lal Nath in Agartala on Saturday (April 1).
Nath was speaking to the media after his New Delhi visit during which he held discussions on multiple issues with the Union Minister of Power and Renewable Energy RK Singh on March 31 last.
In the meeting, Ratan Lal Nath highlighted the achievement and future planning of the State Power Department and talked about power generation using water resources and clean energy. He also mentioned dues payable to the State Government by the NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) Ltd and Central Government.
Talking about his discussion with the Union Minister, Nath said, “Tripura government is keen to utilize the water resources available in the State for power generation”.
He added, “Moreover, a team of the Power Ministry will visit the State to review the ground realities for using the Green Hydrogen Technology in the State”.
The S20 in Agartala will hold deliberations on ‘Hydrogen Energy’ and it is expected that the State Government will seize the opportunity to get the recommendations and suggestions on this issue for Tripura and present those before the visiting Central team.
Talking about the dues, Nath said, “State supplies 150-megawatt power to Bangladesh through the NVVN Ltd, but the NVVN Ltd is yet to clear dues to the State government. I had a discussion with the Union Minister on this issue also”.
Nath also informed the media that he informed the Union Minister on dues payable by the Central Government to the State for the implementation of Saubhagya Yojana.
Besides, he also highlighted the performances of the State Power department.
