Several changes have been brought in the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) conducted Madhyamik, HS (+2), Madrasa Alim and Madrasa Fazil exams for 2021. State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this in a press meet in the civil secretariat in Agartala on Thursday. Madhyamik and HS +2 Final exams would begin from May 10 and planned to be completed within June 9, 2021, Ratan Lal Nath said.

Exams in TBSE conducted Board exams would be held in new syllabus.  Due to Covid19 pandemic, the syllabus has been trimmed by 30 per cent. However, for students of Old syllabus, there would be no change in the syllabus and they would have to appear in the exams for the entire syllabus.

Those who would appear in Madhyamik in new syllabus should score at least 33 per cent in written and International Assessment while for Old syllabus student required pass mark is 30 per cent.

In new syllabus, Mathematics questions for Madhyamik would be set in two different types – Basic and Standard. If any student clears Basic type in mathematics, the student would be able to study in class XI with maths. In such a case, the concerned student would have to clear the Standard type through ‘Bachor Banchau exams. Ratan Lal Nath said, the decision was taken after consulting eminent academicians. He also said that the sixth subject would be decided from two types – Language and non-language category like Math, social science and Science etc.

In case of HS +2 exams, examinees would have to score at least 33 per cent marks while for old syllabus pass mark is 30 per cent. Internal marks for non-practical subjects would be 20 instead of 10.

Two sets of questions would be prepared for both the Madhyamik and HS +2 exams. In both the classes, pre-board exams would be held, however, no student would be barred from appearing in the final board exams on the basis of results in pre-board exams.

Moreover, minimum attendance in school is not mandatory in view of the corona pandemic and attendance would not be awarded for internal assessment.

While relaxation for students participating in National games would be in force, probable dates for filling up forms for Madhyamik and HS +2 exam would be from January 15 to 27 January.  Practical exams in HS +2 standards would be held between March 15 and March 30, 2021. Pre-board exams would be held between April 1 and April 20, 2021 while pre-board results targeted to be announced on April 30, 2021. Madhyamik and HS +2 Final exams would begin from May 10 and planned to be completed within June 9, 2021, Ratan Lal Nath said.
