A poll meeting organized by Bharatiya Janata Party in support of its candidate for by-polls to 8- Town Bordowali- Dr. Manik Saha seat received a huge response from the party workers on Saturday.
The happiness was visible among the karyakartas of Bordowali soon after Dr. Saha, the Chief Minister and BJP state president, was announced as candidate for this constituency.
In the meeting held at Muktadhara auditorium in Agartala, the candidate along with party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Assam cabinet minister Ashok Singhal, Assam MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder and state party leaders spoke on the strategies and organizational matters related to the by-election.
BJP state vice-president Rajib Bhattacharjee in his short speech highlighted the organizational activities in Bordowali constituency over the past three months.
He said, physical verification of all 56 booths was done twice and the data was uploaded in an online portal. Besides, organizational meetings were held in all levels, Pristha Pramukh sammelan was organized and door-to-door visits were also conducted.
Bhattacharjee, who is prabhari of this constituency, said the Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha had already started squadding in view of the ensuing by-polls.
Addressing the meeting, Bhattacharjee expressed hope that BJP would secure victory in Bordowali with more votes as compared to 2018 polls.
The poll meeting registered good success with attendance of mandal office bearers, morcha leaders, shakti Kendra in-charges, booth verification in-charges and booth presidents.
Meanwhile, Dr. Saha chaired a separate poll meeting at the state party office in presence of Vijayvargiya, BJP state prabhari Vinod Sonkar, party’s general secretary (organization) to Tripura and Assam- Phanindranath Sharma and others.
