The State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb approved recruitment in various vacant posts under different departments in the State.
Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press conference at the Secretariat informed the media about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting.
He said 20 posts for Principal in general Degree Colleges of the state under Higher Education department are lying vacant. The Department got the nod of the Finance department to fill up these vacant posts. Soon the posts will be filled up through TPSC.
Apart from that, the cabinet also approved filling up of 10 posts- including six Assistant Professors, two Associate Professors and two professors under the Higher Education Department. They would be required for conducting the M.Ed course.
The cabinet also gave green signal for four vacant posts of Principal in Polytechnic Colleges.
Chowdhury also informed the media that recruitment of 150 Junior Physical Instructors (PIs) has been given green signal in the cabinet meeting.
““There are 995 sanctioned posts and the proposal was placed for 300 posts. Out of them Finance department had given concurrence for 150 posts. These posts creation and recruitment will start off soon—within one month only”, the ICA Minister said.
The Minister also said, a Forensic Laboratory will soon be set up in Ambassa of Dhalai district under the Home Department. Decision has been taken to create 4 technical posts for the Laboratory in the cabinet meeting. Besides government will also appoint Chief Executive Officer of Tripura Horticulture Corporation by a retired and experienced officer with requisite educational qualifications like PhD etc . The appointment will be of one year and fully on contract.
The cabinet also amended the Tripura Stenographer Service recruitment and examination on shorthand was made compulsory.
Earlier, exams would be conducted only for English and General Studies. Now out of the total 100 marks, compulsory shorthand exam would be held for 40 marks.
