The Chief Minister inaugurated a colorful procession on the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji at Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan in Agartala on Tuesday.

Netaji-Subhas-Chandra-TripuraSpeaking at the event, the Chief Minister said, “Today is a day of pride for us. It was in memory of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s contribution to the country’s independence movement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday, January 23, 2021, as ‘Parakram Diwas’. Since then, January 23 is celebrated as ‘Parakram Diwas’ across the country.”

The event was also attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Mazumdar, social worker Rajib Bhattacharjee, corporator Ratna Dutta, Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director Bimbishar Bhattacharjee, and the principal of the Vidyaniketan.

At the event, the Chief Minister and other guests hoisted the national flag and the flag of the Azad Hind Fauj.

The Chief Minister further said at the event that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had formed the Azad Hind Fauj in the country’s independence struggle.

On the 75th anniversary of the Azad Hind Fauj, the national flag was hoisted at Red Fort. The Azad Hind Fauj Museum has been set up. The statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose has been installed at India Gate.

The Chief Minister said that it was only after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister that the country’s freedom fighters and brave soldiers were given due respect.

The Chief Minister said that Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan has a good reputation. The reputation of the Vidyaniketan is not only in the state, but it has spread across the country and abroad. The success of the students of the Vidyaniketan in education, sports, and cultural activities is making the state proud.

The Vidyaniketan was established on March 3, 1948. The procession of the school students on the occasion of Netaji’s birthday was started in 1951.
