Popularity graph of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in remote indigenous dominated remote areas seems to be soaring high as he received cordial and warm reception during his tour at far flung Manikpur and other areas under Dhalai district on Monday.

Deb received noticeable response from the crowds – happy and beaming youths, elderly women and children shook hands with the Chief Minister and interacted with him at the places that he visited.

With State Assembly Polls are ensuing, increasing popularity of Deb among the indigenous people dominated areas which constitute 20 Assembly seats will be a major boost for the BJP. In coming days, this will sure to go up because of several welfare and developmental schemes like PMAY-Gramin benfitting the remote area inhabitants and uplifting their living standard.

BJP ally IPFT was routed in the last District Council elections in the hill areas. Cashing on the electoral failure of the IPFT, a regional party, TIPRA Motha, captured power in the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

He went to Manikpur to lay foundation stones of RCC bridges over the river Manu today. He received warm greetings and Janajati men, women and youth were seen engaged in vibrant interaction with Deb.

He rocked the hill areas, opined some youths of Chawmanu.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for construction of an RCC bridge over the river Manu at remote Manikpur village in Dhalai district.

At present, the local villagers are dependent on a makeshift bridge that connects Manikpur with Debacherra to cross the river. Once completed, the bridge will not only make the movement of the villagers easier but also play an important role in improving the local socio-economic condition.

When the Chief Minister reached Chawmanu in Dhalai district on Monday, he was given a warm reception by the local people. There was huge enthusiasm among the villagers following the Chief Minister’s visit.

Deb, who also inaugurated three other bridges from Chailengta to Chawmanu, himself walked on the makeshift bridge to witness the ground reality and difficulties faced by the villagers due to non-availability of an RCC bridge in the area.

Deb said, his government is committed to make Tripura free from drugs with zero tolerance.

Later in a social media post, the Chief Minister mentioned that the project would be completed in 24 months and Rs.500.33 lakh had already been sanctioned as the project cost.

Deb also participated in a party programme at Kumarghat, where he held discussions on the union budget- 2022.
