Chairman of All India Congress SC department, Rajesh Lilotia launched a scathing attack and accused the RSS-BJP of spreading communal hatred across the country.
Rajesh Lilotia is on a visit to Tripura for a party campaign ahead of the ensuing by-elections in the state.
Addressing a joining programme at Agartala Congress Bhawan on Friday, Rajesh Lilotia alleged, “The RSS and the BJP have only one motive, they want to rule the country by spreading communal violence, by dividing the society and take political benefits out of it. So, it’s nothing new. Those people need to understand it who doesn’t understand the BJP’s and RSS’ ideologies.”
He claimed that the people of this state had an idea of the poisonous ideology of the BJP party and hence opted to join the congress party which is working abiding by the constitution of the country.
“At a time when there is a huge need of employment for the unemployed youths, the ruling BJP government is depriving them at large, while there is a need to empower women, the BJP is prompting tortures against them,” the Congress leader alleged.
He welcomed the newly joined voters on Friday and appealed to the people of this state to join Congress and oust the ‘divisive’ existing force from Tripura.
Total 20 voters joined the Congress party on Friday.
Among others, Tripura Pradesh Congress Chief Birajit Sinha, Congress candidate for Bordowali by-poll Asish Saha, veteran Congress leader Gopal Roy were present in the joining programme and the press conference.
Congress which failed to open an account in the last Assembly polls in 2018, is fighting the do-or-die by-polls which were necessitated after Asish Saha and Sudip Roy Barman who won elections on BJP tickets, resigned and joined Congress. The by-polls are crucial for both Saha and Roy Barman.
