In Tripura, Youth wings of CPIM demanded filling up vacant posts in Education, Health and other Departments, initiate stern actions against the drug and human traffickers and restoration of the State sports arena from the clutches of ‘corruption’ and ‘saffronization bids’.
At a joint press conference in Agartala on Wednesday, the youth wings – DYFI and TYF – lashed out at the BJP-led State Government alleging that unemployment in Tripura is double compared to country’s unemployment in 2023.
DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb said, in the country unemployment rate was 5.44% when Modi became the Prime Mnister nine years ago. The rate is 7.1% in 2023. Comparing the all India Data, Deb claimed the unemployment rate in Tripura stands at 14.3% at present. He also pointed out that most of the schools in the State, even in Agartala are facing a severe shortage of teachers hampering the education. Deb also said, similar situation is prevailing in the Health sector as well. However, the State Government is not recruiting the job aspirants causing unemployment to swell.
The TYF also spoke at the press conference. They echoed the DYFI’s demands and called on the government to take immediate action to address the issue of unemployment.
The DYFI and TYF leaders alleged the state government is not doing enough to provide employment to the unemployed.
The leaders demanded that the state government immediately fill vacancies in various departments.
The DYFI and TYF leaders also criticized the role of the Government in curbing the illegal drug and human trafficking. They demanded stern punitive actions against the persons involved in the drug and human trafficking .
The leaders also accused the government for allowing political intervention in the State’s sports sector. According the leftists, such intervention is ruining the image of the State. They demanded freeing the sports sector from such intervention and involve the youth of the State in sports activities so that they stay away from the drugs.
