Tripura’s cricket team, captained by Wriddhiman Saha, started the last match of the Ranji Trophy season promisingly and even took a first-innings lead against Railways, but ended up losing the match. With 17 points in seven matches, Tripura finished fifth in Group C. Meanwhile, Railways earned 24 points.

The Tripura versus Railways Ranji Trophy match took place at the MBB Stadium, where Railways emerged victorious due to an outstanding performance by opener Pratham Singh. Needing 108 runs to win on the final day with six wickets in hand, Railways managed to score the required runs, losing only one additional wicket. P Singh remained unbeaten with a remarkable 169 runs.

Capitalizing on this, Singh and Arindam Ghosh resumed their unbeaten partnership from the third day, adding 118 runs off 230 balls, leading Railways to victory. Ghosh was dismissed for 40 runs off 126 balls, becoming Manishankar Murasing’s third victim.

Following Ghosh’s dismissal, P Singh, alongside captain Upendra Yadav, guided the team to victory. During this partnership, P Singh scored his first century of the season.

The pair remained unbroken, securing the much-desired victory for Railways. The team batted for 103 overs, scoring 378 runs for 5 wickets. P Singh scored 169 runs off 300 balls, including 16 boundaries and one over-boundary, while Yadav remained unbeaten with 27 runs off 36 balls, including six boundaries.

For Tripura, Murasing claimed 3 wickets for 81 runs, Bikram Debnath took 1 wicket for 55 runs, and Rana Dutta took 1 wicket for 75 runs.

Earlier, in response to Tripura’s first innings total of 149 runs, Railways scored 105 runs. With a lead of 44 runs, Tripura scored 333 runs in the second innings.
