The Tripura government has successfully placed over 15,168 individuals into regular employment positions since 2018 including 1413 TSR personnel, Agricultural Minister of Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath revealed in  Agartala on Wednesday.

He also pointed out that state made noticeable growth in per capita income and GSDP over the years despite COVID pandemic.

On the placement issue, Minister Nath during a media briefing today further said, the State government has also broadened its employment outreach by facilitating job opportunities across various categories, encompassing DRW, contingent, contractual, and outsourcing roles. Currently, over 6,000 individuals contribute their expertise in these diverse capacities within Tripura.

Further bolstering the state’s employment landscape, Nath announced the imminent recruitment of 6,067 Special Executives, a move that will undoubtedly address the growing demand for skilled professionals. Simultaneously, the distribution of job offers to 1,980 individuals hired for Group-C positions through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) is underway. This process will further expand the state’s workforce, paving the way for a more robust and efficient administrative structure.

The Agriculture Minister also elaborated on the ongoing recruitment drive for 2,500 Group-D posts via JRBT. Interviews for these positions are scheduled to commence shortly, providing ample opportunities for aspiring candidates to secure employment within the state’s administrative framework.

Nath also shed light on the burgeoning pool of job aspirants registered on the National Career Service online portal. The portal currently lists an impressive 2,90,944 individuals seeking employment. Among these aspirants, 1,12,310 are general candidates, while 58,960 belong to the OBC category, 50,146 represent the SC community, and 69,528 fall under the ST category.

Providing a district-wise breakdown of job aspirants, Nath revealed that Dhalai district accounts for 28,710 individuals, Gomati district for 33,341, Khowai for 24,847, North Tripura for 27,112, Sepahijala for 31,477, South Tripura for 38,772, Unakoti for 22,799, and West Tripura for 83,886. 

The Minister also accentuated the remarkable progress made in enhancing Tripura’s per capita income, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

He highlighted a significant rise from Rs. 1,00,444 in 2017-18 to Rs. 1,59,419 in the present era, reflecting the state’s unwavering commitment to improving the living standards of its citizens.

Furthermore, Nath pointed to the impressive growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), noting an escalation from Rs. 43,487 crore in 2017-18 to Rs. 72,636 crore in the current period. This substantial increase underscores the state’s economic prowess and its ability to attract investments and create employment opportunities.
