The Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, issued a stern warning that strong action will be taken against those who attempt to tarnish the image of the government.

Speaking at a Barsho Baran programme in the Sepahijala district, he pointed out that a section of society had been attempting to create unrest in the state since the announcement of the State Assembly election results on March 2 last.

According to Dr. Saha, the state government had issued multiple warnings to those responsible for the unrest, and action would now be taken.

Taking a jibe at the Leftists, the Chief Minister said we need to abandon the culture introduced by the communists as it is disliked by the general public.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to working in such a way that people would remember its actions for years to come.

The Chief Minister also pointed out issues like the maintenance of government buildings, specifically referencing the poor condition of the new Bishalgarh town hall where the Barsho Baran programme was being held. He called on government employees to perform their duties properly and asked them to develop a work culture that would lead to better maintenance of government property.

The programme, which was organized jointly by the Bishalgarh Municipal Council and the ICA department, was initiated by local MLA Sushanta Deb.  The event drew a good response from the public.

In his address, the Chief Minister praised the initiative of the local MLA saying that such programmes strengthen social harmony and culture.

Dr. Saha also used the occasion to call for cooperation from all sections of society in building a drug-free Tripura.

Other notable figures in attendance at the programme included BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and Supriya Das Dutta, Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad.

The Chief Minister’s warning against attempts to tarnish the government’s image comes amidst unrest in the state after the declaration of the election results. The government’s commitment to taking strong action against those responsible suggests that it is taking the matter seriously and is prepared to take decisive steps to restore order.
