The council of ministers in its sitting on Thursday has taken some important decisions including filling up of 9175 posts and a new scheme for providing social assistance to 30,000 beneficiaries.

 

The cabinet cleared recruitment of 6067 Special Executive posts under the Home department on contract basis, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury has announced in a press conference on Friday.

 

Eight passed youths in the age group of 21 to 45 years may apply for the posts through their respective police stations. The recruitment process would begin in the next one month, he said.

 

He said, the special executives would be deployed to assist the police in all the police stations in rural and urban areas of the state.

 

In another important decision, the cabinet approved a new scheme “Chief Minister Social Assistance Scheme” for the poor people who are deprived of social allowances.

 

As many as 30,000 new beneficiaries have been covered under this scheme; they would now get a monthly allowance of Rs. 2000, Chowdhury said, adding that for implementing the decision, an additional fund of Rs. 6 crore would be required per month.

 

Under the Social Welfare and Social Education department, as many as 3,18,415 beneficiaries are receiving social allowances at present.

 

The state cabinet also cleared a 15 percent hike in the salaries of Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha workers, he said.

 

He also said, the state government decided to recruit 17 professors in Veterinary College on contract basis while creation of 374 new posts in various categories under the Rural Development department has been approved.

 

According to the ICA minister, the cabinet also decided to recruit 3108 teachers among the candidates who cleared Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET).

 

Out of them, 757 are Under Graduate Teachers and 2351 are Graduate Teachers at Upper Primary Level.

 

Elaborating the decision on teachers’ recruitment, Education minister Ratanlal in a separate press conference said, the School Education department already started releasing offers to the TET-qualified candidates.

He said, 256 offers have been released on September 27 last and another 258 offers have been released on Friday.

Nath said, as many as 3447 teachers have been recruited since the formation of the new government in 2018.

The Education minister said, as many as 44,673 girl students of Class- IX and X would be given bi-cycles for two academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22 after Durga Puja.

He also said, two students from Tripura—Madhurima Das, Class-VIII student of Shishu Bihar HS School, and Sakil Saha, student of Jagatpur High School, have secured second and fifth positions respectively in a national-level science model exhibition. (Courtesy: Tripura Times)
