Accused in Arms Act at Badarpur arrested in Khowai
Tripura Police arrested a person, Indrajit Yadav (35) accused in an arms smuggling case from Naliabari area under Champahaor PS in Khowai on Tuesday morning. Indrajit gave Assam Police a slip at Badarpur Rail station area while Assam Police arrested two others with arms on April 3 last. It is suspected that Indrajit Yadav was the third accused who evaded arrest at Badarpur Rail Station area along with two others.
After fleeing away from Assam, Indrajit took shelter at a house in Naliabari under Khowai district to evade the Police. Like the other two arrested persons, Yadav too hails from Bihar.
Speaking to the media, Khowai District Police Superintendent Bhanupada Chakraborty told the media that Tripura Police conducted a search at Naliabari area based on information shared by the Assam Police. Chakraborty also said, a case was lodged against Indrajit at Badarpur under the Arms Act.
Minor rape case: Police arrest two more from Bengaluru
Tripura Police arrested two youths who were accused in a minor rape case from Bengaluru and were brought to Radhakishore PS in Udaipur on Tuesday. The arrested youths are – Sanjit Jamatia (19) and Boyer Jamatia (21). Police already arrested another accused youth, Amit Kumar Jamatia.
The three youths were allegedly gang-raped a minor girl in a forest area of Killa under Gomati district on March 17 last. Later, the girl informed the family members who lodged a complaint with the Killa PS on March 20.
Based on the complaint, Police immediately arrested Amit Kumar Jamatia on March 20 night. However, two other accused Sanjit Jamatia of Raiyabari and Boyer Jamatia of Tulsirambari fled away. Later Police came to know about their presence in Bengaluru. Accordingly, with the help of Bengaluru Police, a special team of Tripura Police arrested the two youth on April 3. The duo was brought to RK Pur PS Tuesday – the efficiency of the Police in arresting the culprits was applauded.
