Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) had been asked to review the results of Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examinations, 2021.

The announcement came in the wake massive protests by unsuccessful students in different parts of the State including in Agartala for last three consecutive days. On Wednesday also students hit streets demanding ‘promote all’ slogan and even gheraoed the Unakoti District Education Officer.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Education minister Ratan Lal Nath, once again, recapitulated the evaluation process and said that TBSE, based on marks provided by the schools, evaluated the Students.

He said, “The Madhyamik and Higher Secondary results were declared by the TBSE as per the evaluation process prescribed by a 10-member expert committee. But, after the announcement of the results, there was dissatisfaction among the students to some extent following which the government already asked the Board to review the results,” Nath said on Wednesday.

The Board was asked to find out if there was any fault in the evaluation process or the results sent by the school authorities, Nath said.

“If there is any fault then the Board should hold talks with the school authorities and review the results to fix the problem. There is no need for any agitation. The problem will be resolved by the Board,” Nath told the media.

He also reminded that if any student, even if he passed the examination through evaluation, is not satisfied with the grades, he or she would have an opportunity to appear in the examinations to be conducted by the Board as per the order of the Supreme Court.

In that case, the examinations are likely to be announced by the end of August or at the beginning of September, he added.

The Education minister said that he had talks with the TBSE officials on Wednesday regarding review of the results.

A meeting between the Board and the expert would be held on Thursday and then they would hold discussions with the school authorities. Nath said, he believes that the process of review would not take more than one week.
