Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Pijush Kanti Biswas slammed BJP-IPFT and alleged that the ruling alliance was not giving TIPRA Motha a free hand to work in ADC polls. Biswas also criticized the LF for ignoring the indigenous people for the last 25 years.

Addressing a press conference in Agartala on Wednesday, Biswas said, TIPRA Motha won the ADC Polls. They must be given a free hand to work. However, BJP-IPFT Government is intervening in the ADC areas and preventing TIPRA Motha from carrying out it’s activities, Biswas alleged.

Statement of the TPCC chief came up after series of clashes and confrontations between BJP-IPFT and TIPRA Motha after ADC Poll results were announced.

Taking a jibe at CPM, Biswas said, the CPM-led Left Front did nothing for overall improvement of indigenous people during its 25 years long tenure. Notably, TIPRA Motha wrested power in ADC from CPM in May.

Biswas continued his verbal attack on BJP-IPFT and said, after BJP-IPFT alliance came into power in Tripura, they clashed against each other to gain control of BACs and Village councils.

Now, after people elected TIPRA Motha to run administration of the ADC, BJP and IPFT are in loggerheads with TIPRA Motha, he alleged and commented that BJP-IPFT were not fighting for interest of people – but to safeguard their respective parties’ interests.

Biswas referred to Takarjala incident in which one of Ministers of BJP-IPFT government also came under attack, allegedly by TIPRA Motha supporters recently. In this connection he said, this incident alone proves the emerging situation in the State where even a Minister comes under attack.

Urging the Government to act, the TPCC Chief said, an environment of chaos and tension has been created in ADC areas and the Government must ensure peace and restore normalcy.
