The first ever private Covid Care Centre (CCC) has come up at Agartala in Tripura on Monday. Paid medical services for Covid patients will be available in this CCC set up at Ginger Hotel. The Hotel authority in association with Divine Touch Medi-clinic will provide the services.  

The West Tripura District Administration announced this on Monday. Initially, 30 to 50 beds would be made operational in the new CCC where 10 beds would be on oxygen concentrator support.

As per the notification, the Divine Touch Medi-clinic will deliver the healthcare services to patients in the CCC while Ginger hotel will provide the accommodation for the patients.

The notification also read, “Both Divine Touch Medi-clinic and Ginger Hotel will jointly be responsible for all the matters related with patient safety, providing better treatment 23×7 to the patients”.

According to the notification, room charges have been fixed at Rs 3,500 for single room occupancy, Rs 4,000 for double room single occupancy and Rs 5,000 for double room, double occupancy.

“These rates will include bed charge with complimentary breakfast, lunch, dinner and packaged drinking water. Medicine investigation charges, consumables, oxygen charges will be charged extra”, the notification added. However, it remains unknown as to whether the rates have been on daily basis or for the entire period of the treatment of a Covid patient.

The in-charge of the CCC had also been asked to submit a daily report to the Chief medical officer west Tripura and the CMO had been directed to assign one medical officer the day to day activities in the CCC.

Earlier, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath also said on Monday, “Divine Touch Medi-clinic, a private healthcare service provider, has sought permission to open such a facility. In lieu of a small charge, the patients can access services there”. Nath.

Notably, the Minister presided over West Tripura district’s Covid 19 management committee meeting at DM’s conference hall West Tripura today. In this connection, Nath also said, “The government is also contemplating to introduce paid Rapid Antigen and RT-PCR tests in GBP hospital and IGM hospital. Tripura Medical College already has the paid testing facility”.
