In view of the Corona Curfew, the functioning of High Court of Tripura and the District Courts in the State including Family Court has been rearranged. In an order Registrar General DM Jamatia mentioned the Registry shall accept the filing of only urgent cases till 2.00 pm.  

 

Tripura-News-High-Court-corona-curfew“If the Registrar (Judi.) is convinced about the nature of urgency, he may allow the filing and circulate the case for urgent hearing before the concerned Judge or the Bench on the next working day. In case the Registrar (Judi.) is not persuaded about the nature of urgency, he may refer the question of urgency to the Judge or the Bench concerned”, the Order read.

 

All cases where interim relief is limited, the same shall automatically stand extended till the next date of hearing. So also with respect to the interim bail orders.

 

The Registrar General, at his discretion shall summon the bare minimum staff of the Registry to operationalize this arrangement.

 

The District Judge in rotation shall request the presence of one Judicial Magistrate First Class, one Civil Judge (Jr. Div.), one Civil Judge (Sr. Div.) and one Judge in the cadre of Addl. District Judge/District Judge on daily basis for handling urgent civil as well as criminal work.

 

The Chief Judicial Magistrate and the District Judge shall pass necessary administrative orders giving authority to such Judges to accept all production and deal with urgent issues, civil as well as criminal within their respective jurisdictions. One Judge, Family Court likewise shall attend court for urgent work every day.

 

Moreover, the District Judge including Judge, Family Court, Agartala shall summon bare necessary staff required for this purpose.

 

The remaining staff of the High Court Registry as well as the District Court including Family Court, Agartala who are not called to perform their duties on a given day, shall nevertheless be on call and may be summoned at a short notice.

 

This arrangement shall continue till 31st May, 2021 unless modified or recalled sooner, the Order read.
